Town Hall estate again targeted by arsonists

RECKLESS fire raisers used burning rubbish to ignite a Ford Escort van parked outside council garages in Grangemoor.

It is the latest in a spate of early morning arson attacks on the Town Hall estate.

"This is giving us great concern," said sub officer Ken Sharratt. "Blue lights flashing in the early hours in a residential area disturbs residents. Burnt out cars degrade the area.

"We are continuing our investigations with the police and remind people to keep their vehicles locked and secure, and if possible, not to park in unlit areas."

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the toxic fumes at 1.30am, last Thursday.

Anyone with information is urged to call the police.
