Canterbury Bulldogs have named their squad for the forthcoming Carnegie World Club Challenge (4th February 2005 - ko 8.00pm at Elland Road Stadium).
Current Australian international Wilie Tonga is among the 19 man party, along with young Kiwi forward sensation Sonny-Bill Williams.
Also in the Bulldogs' line-up is former Kangaroo tourist Braith Anasta.
Jamaal Lolesi and Roy Asotasi - who both featured for New Zealand in the Gillette Tri-Nations tournament - also travel to the UK for the match on Friday 4th February (ko 8.00pm). The Bulldog's record breaking goal kicker Hazem El Masri is in the squad and among the other members are Luke Patten -arguably one of the NRL's best full backs and former Hull FC Captain Tony Grimaldi.
The Bulldogs squad in full is:
Backs Forwards
Braith Anasta Chris Armit
Trent Cutler Roy Asotasi
Hazem El Masri Adam Brideson
Jamaal Lolesi Ben Czislowski
Reni Maitua Tony Grimaldi
Brett Oliver Corey Hughes
Luke Patten Nate Myles
Cameron Phelps Adam Perry
Willie Tonga Trevor Thurling
Sonny Bill Williams
Commenting on the selection, Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes said, "Obviously we 're missing some of our established representative players due to injury, but that gives a few of the younger players an opportunity and I'm looking forward to finding out what they can do at this level."
Meanwhile, tickets for the Carnegie World Club Challenge are selling extremely well. Remaining tickets can still be purchased by clicking on the animated icon on this site, by calling (0870) 990 1313 or from the Rhinos box office at Headingley Stadium.
