A tail with a happy twist!

A CAT missing for four months was reunited with its owner on New Year's Eve.

Jasper, of High Legh, escaped from Rosewood Cattery and Dog Kennels in Lymm, in August, after a member of the public opened his cage.

His owner Joan Rogers launched an appeal in the Warrington Guardian, but despite hundreds of calls from people who thought they had spotted Jasper, he was not recovered.

Then, on New Year's Eve, the cattery phoned Joan to say that a farmer had found Jasper living rough on his land.

Joan, of Pheasant Walk, said: "We picked him up and took him straight to the vets to be checked over. He was very thin and had worms but apart from that was perfectly healthy.

"Since then he has settled in really well and has been extremely affectionate.

"There are so many people I would like to thank for trying to help, and I am sure they would like to know that Jasper has been safely returned."
