Waiting time targets hit

WAITING times at Warrington Hospital are again hitting targets in the A&E department - and another £100,000 should be on the way.

The department has met the 97 per cent target of patients being treated, admitted or discharged within four hours of arrival during October, November and December.

The A&E department also hit the targets last year - and it each time it does the government pays out a £100,000 bonus.

Shirley Brady, directorate manager for emergency care, said: "This is excellent news and a real boost to staff in the department.

"We are delighted that we are able to continue to reduce waiting times for patients and this money will be ploughed back in to ensure we can provide even better access to our facilities."
