'Baywatch' shows up thoughtless shoppers

INCONSIDERATE motorists who park their cars in bays reserved for disabled customers are the focus of a national survey.

The 2005 survey will cover the big four supermarkets' car parks and other car parks with disabled bays.

Ed Passant, chief executive of the Disabled Drivers' Motor Club, said: "Last year, 'Baywatch' volunteers surveyed more than 800 stores, and the results showed an increase in the abuse of parking bays allocated to disabled customers. We need to find out whether things have improved."

The survey will take place between January 10 and 16 and volunteers are needed to survey Warrington's car parks.
