School video ban is such a sad day

HOW nice it was to see pictures of children enjoying themselves doing their Christmas nativity plays last week.

I remember only too well many years ago I too was in my school nativity. I didn't make Joseph or one of the wise men. I was just a humble sheep.

This year and for the past couple of years, my children too have been following in my non-illustrious acting footsteps and have appeared in the nativity at St Wilfrid's RC School.

The difference is, when I was a child, parents were allowed to take photos, and then eventually they took camcorders in to record the precious moments forever or even get on You've Been Framed.

I find it appalling that St Wilfrid's School has taken this opportunity away from proud parents.

Not only that but having to pay to watch my own children in these performances! I know £2.50 is not a great amount but what is this money used for? So we can sit and watch paid teachers receiving plants and flowers as gifts for all their hard work.

Just a little mention for the parents and grandparents who stay up late getting costumes ready.

How many more schools charged admission fees? How many more ban photography?

It's a sad reflection on society today in my opinion.
