WARRINGTON HF

RAMBLING CLUB

By TOM LEONARD

A TOTAL of 55 club members visited the Ribble Valley area for their Christmas walk and dinner. The walk started in the village of Hutton following public footpaths through fields and woods to reach the banks of the River Ribble. Here the walkers joined the Ribble Way, with nice views all around on a lovely sunny winter's day, making their way alongside the river in a westerly direction before taking a short break overlooking the estuary.

The party continued to follow the Ribble Way which took them away from the river across fields and over stiles and then on to quiet country lanes to return eventually back to Hutton and complete the seven mile walk. The members then travelled to the Rufford Arms Hotel to enjoy an excellent Christmas dinner before making their way home after a very pleasant day out.
