Website to put Warrington first

A NEW website to help people get the most out of their business has been launched.

Called Warrington First, it provides a comprehensive guide to courses and advice to ensure Warrington companies with training needs and skills gaps can get up to date.

Courses on offer include ICT, finance, communications, memo writing, Sage payroll and basic food hygiene. As well as standard courses, tailor-made packages which meet each company's needs can be arranged.

The website is part of a wider venture called the Workforce Development Project, and is a partnership between Warrington Collegiate, Priestley College, University College Chester, Company Plus and Business Link.

Sandra Brusby, chief executive of Business Link in Cheshire and Warrington, welcomed the website. She said: "The key to running a successful business is having a skilled workforce. I believe Warrington First is providing an invaluable source of information for small to medium-sized enterprises helping them to identify skills gaps and pointing them in the right direction to address that gap."

Paul Hafren, principal of Warrington Collegiate, said: "Between us the Warrington First partners can provide a huge range of training opportunities for businesses to tap into. What can be easier than logging on to a website and having all the information you need right there? There's never been a better time to run a business in Warrington."
