EXCITED Scottish holidaymakers posed for snaps on a bridge - over the Atlantic!
They were visiting Siel Island when they stumbled on this unique photo opportunity.
"It was incredible," said Laura Harrison, founder of Halton's friendship club.
"We couldn't believe we were actually on a bridge over the Atlantic! It really caught our imagination."
Their Oban trip was just one of many holidays she organised for members last year.
A fortnight in Tenerife in the summer, a short break to Holland and a turkey and tinsel treat in Kent forged many new friendships.
The club aims to give single people the chance to relax and enjoy themselves, go out and have fun.
Social evenings, theatre trips, concert nights and outings are organised regularly.
Door to door transport is provided so no one has to worry about travelling on their own.
"Many older people suddenly find themselves alone, through bereavement or marriage breakdowns," said Laura, who started the club in 2000. "It can be very difficult to have a social life, especially for women.
"This club has opened up a whole new life for a lot of people.
"They say they feel better and it's given them something to look forward to."
