Money to restore faith

STAFF at Tatton still need to raise thousands to pay for the restoration of a glass house where pineapples were once grown.

"We are trying to get funding and this will be a major push for us next year," said a spokesman last week.

The project is part of the ongoing refurbishment of the award-winning gardens and will enable visitors to see how produce was grown years ago.

Tatton has also revealed the dates for two of its biggest events for next year.

The RHS Flower Show takes place from July 20 to 24 and the Hall firework and light spectacular is on July 30.

A new event - the Tatton Country Show - is pencilled in from August 27 to 29. "We are still planning that event but it will be similar to a country fair," she said.
