Pensioner dies after crash

A PENSIONER has died after a collision on the A556 between the blue bridge and Davenham roundabout.

The 67-year-old local man was driving a green sports car along the Manchester-bound side of the dual carriageway when it was involved in the collision just before 8am on Friday, December 31.

He was taken to Leighton Hospital where he later died.
