Armed raid on late shop

MASKED armed robbers raided the Co-op Late Shop in Orford.

The robbery happened on Wednesday at around 10.50pm, when two men, one armed with a baseball bat, entered the Orford Lane shop.

The men threatened members of staff and stole cash, cigarettes and alcohol, particularly a large amount of vodka.

They then left the store but police do not know what direction they fled in.

The man carrying the baseball bat had a Warrington accent, was around 6ft tall and slim. He was wearing a blue-hooded anorak, black leather gloves, black tracksuit bottoms and light footwear. His face was covered with black tights.

The second robber was between 5ft 8in and 6ft tall, wearing a green padded jacket, a black Balaclava with eyeholes, blue gloves, black tracksuit bottoms (believed to be Adidas) and black footwear.

Anyone with information about this robbery, or who recognises the description of the two men, is asked to call DC Mark Rowan, at Warrington CID, on 01244 613845. Alternatively call the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111.
