All smiles as dentist picks up top award

A SUCCESSFUL Northwich dentist has been recognised as the best boss in the country at an industry awards ceremony.

Tom Dickerson, of Beach Road, Hartford, scooped the best employer category at the prestigious Private Dentistry Practice of the Year Awards in London, but was quick to praise his team.

He said: "I couldn't have won this award if it wasn't for the staff who help me to do my job every day.

"It was the team that actually nominated me for this award and that is extremely pleasing in itself because it shows that they enjoy working for me.

"I didn't expect to win this award but we are all absolutely delighted."

Tom believes the secret of being a successful employer is to create a teamwork ethos within the business.

He said: "We all work towards making the practice as successful as we can and we all work for each other.

"I always try to develop the careers of my staff as much as I can because it is important for them personally and also for the business."

Tom co-owns a dental practice in Newcastle Under Lyme with his wife Grazyna and is looking forward to building on the accolade.

He said: "It is great to be recognised as a good employer and especially pleasing to know that it was after being nominated by your own employees.

"I must be doing something right to get such a great group of people working with me and this is really testament to them.

"We will keep working together in the future and hopefully a few more awards will come our way."
