'It's a living nightmare'

A DISTRAUGHT Winsford resident is considering giving up everything he has worked for because his life is being destroyed by yobs.

The man, who does not wish to be named for fear of further acts of vandalism, claims his life has been made a misery by teenagers who run riot near to his home, on Delaisy Way.

He said he has become an emotional wreck as a result of the persistent abuse and anti-social behaviour he and his family are being subjected to.

He said: "It is just a living nightmare and I don't think I am going to be able to cope with this for much longer.

"We have worked so hard for our home and it is our life savings.

"It means everything to us but if this continues we are just going to have to walk away from it.

"Quite honestly we don't know where to go or what to do about this.

"I didn't think this sort of behaviour would go on in this country but now I know it does and it is devastating for us."

One act of anti-social behaviour directed against the resident involved a golf ball being thrown over a garden fence and narrowly missing his granddaughter.

The frustrated resident said: "I was out in the garden playing with my young granddaughter when a golf ball came over the fence.

"It could quite easily have hit her and it would have caused a serious injury.

"It is a sad state of affairs when it isn't safe to play in your own back garden with your granddaughter."

Winsford Mayor Clr Don Beckett is calling on the authorities to get tough on troublemakers.

He said: "The only way to solve this problem is to indicate these people through the courts and Anti-Social Behaviour Orders."
