Santa's presence is worth £7,000

KIND-HEARTED Nantwich residents have helped to raise around £7,000 in this year's Santa run.

Crewe and Nantwich District Round Table's Christmas Float has been touring the borough for the past three weeks, raising money for a host of local charities and organisations.

Organisers believe that the final sum of money raised will beat last year's total of £6,800.

The float has raised over £20,000 from 2001-2003.

Michael Parkin, from the Round Table, said: "It looks like we've raised about £7,000, and everyone who was involved in it had a great time.

"It was very popular with everyone in the Nantwich area."
