Full of Eastern promise

A CHARITY banquet has been held to celebrate the refurbishment of Halton's longest established Indian restaurant.

Ahmed Meah, proprietor of Tandoori Night in Runcorn's High Street for 29 years, donated £200 to the Mayor's Fund.

Guest of honour, Halton Mayor, Cllr Pat Tyrrell, said: "Thank you for your kind invitation, this has been a wonderful meal.

"Mr Meah has helped the Mayor's charity for many years. I would like to wish you every success in your newly renovated premises. You have made us feel very welcome with your wonderful cuisine."

London chef Jamshed Ali has added 42 authentic new dishes to the menu, complemented by experienced Tandoori chefs Shamrad Ali and Dulal Miah.

Succulent lamb, aromatic chicken and spiced vegetables were just some of the mouthwatering dishes they served to loyal customers and special guests.

A star studded ceiling, new carpet and extensive renovations have given the restaurant a warm, relaxing ambience.
