It's ho ho ho for Let's Go

TWO Santas sleighed into a Christmas celebration to distribute gifts to Britain's biggest stroke club.

A festive dinner was held for members, relatives, friends and supporters of the Let's Go Stroke Club at Halton Stadium.

Each of the 200 guests received a free gift, one Santa gave the ladies a pair of gloves whilst another Santa presented the men with a Parker pen.

Halton Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Pat Tyrrell and his wife, Jean, were guests of honour.

A festive raffle raised £1,800 and £354 was donated from a draw at the dinner.

Club founder and chairman, Bob Bryant, said: "We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has generously donated gifts. We really do appreciate all the support we receive."

The club also made up 26 Christmas hampers and donated the festive treats to local groups and charities, including Halton Haven, Mencap, Bridgewater Centre, Macmillan and Halton Hospital.

Let's Go, founded seven years ago, offers practical help and support to stroke victims and their families.

Cut price holidays, day trips, a monthly social evening - all with door to door transport - are provided for members.
