Ready meal company set for rebrand

WARRINGTON company Hazlewood Chilled Meals, which produces more than 850,000 ready meals a week, is changing its name to Greencore Chilled Meals.

This follows the unification of Greencore's operations and marks the final stage of the integration of the Hazlewood businesses acquired by Greencore in 2001.

Greencore chief executive Tony Hynes said: "This is not a cosmetic change, it will help colleagues within our businesses to identify as part of a single team and demonstrate to customers our commitment to achieve uniform high standards across all our categories."

The company is a leading international manufacturer of ingredients and customer brand convenience foods, and is based in Woolston Grange Industrial Estates. It has sites in five countries of the European Union, and employs more than 9,000 people.
