Santa makes a slight detour

A VERY special visitor dropped in to the children's ward at Warrington Hospital to give young patients a seasonal lift.

Father Christmas took time out from his busy schedule to give out presents and spread festive cheer.

The party, complete with a clown, entertainer and meals supplied by McDonald's, was organised by hospital play specialists Jill Holland and Kath Coleman and was funded by the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Jane Beckett, respiratory nurse specialist, said: "This time of year is always difficult for children on the ward but this should give them a lift and help make Christmas a happy time for them."
