A sight for sore eyes

TEACHERS put down their books and saw science fiction become science fact on a visit to a Halton chemical plant.

Ineos Chlor invited nine teachers to see for themselves how brine is turned into chlorine through electrolysis at their Runcorn site.

It is a move to forge links between education and business and to help teachers better explain to pupils how science is applied in everyday life.

The company recently raised £2,154 for Children In Need to take their total in 25 years to over £25,000.
