EASTENDERS - IT'S nice to know that the good people in the EastEnders script writing department enjoy the Midweek soap column.
That's because after last week's criticism of all things Walford, there was a good episode this week. No, honestly, there was.
Little Mo returned to the Square, or at least to the courts near the Square, to be greeted with the whole clan - topped off by a drunken Kat whoa according to my soap insider, is not too much longer for this show.
But the highlight of the week has to be the arrival of the latest member of soap's 'run a mile if you see them coming towards you at a party'-family.
Stacey, Charlie's great niece.
And in the time-honoured tradition of soap arrivals, she is a loveable rogue, one with a truly horrific accent as well. It is so Cockney that you almost expect her to launch into a verse of 'You've got to pick a pocket or two' at any moment.
She may be a pain now, but what's the betting that in six months' time she'll be healing the sick.
NEIGHBOURS
A year ago, news that Australian lovely Delta Goodrum was returning to Ramsay Street would have been enough to warm me up on a cold November night.
But after her tabloid exertions with a certain Aussie tennis star and a former Westlife lummox, I'm not so keen.
Delta's character Nina is set to return from filming a Bollywood movie in the next couple of weeks.
And her arrival could signal the departure of a Neighbours regular because Lynn is about to announce that she wants to move back to see Joe (remember him?) in the country.
Changes could be afoot....
l Regular soap column readers will be relieved to hear that Alison Klabacher returns next week.
