AN after-school club has been set up in Winsford to provide activities for young people who suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The scheme is being run by Winsford-based charity Toc H and will provide vital care for the children as well as much needed respite for their parents.
Stephanie Steele, who helps to run the club at Castle Court, said: "It has been going great and the kids are really enjoying it.
"We have a Playstation, table tennis and lots of other activities for the kids to enjoy. It isn't always easy for parents so it is nice for them to be able to bring their children here and take a break for a while."
The project received grants from various organisations including £2,000 from the Guardian's parent company Gannett. Stephanie said: "It has taken a lot of work to get this off the ground but now we are up and running it is going from strength to strength and we are really grateful for all the help we have received.
"Parents are telling us that their kids want to come here every night because they enjoy themselves so much - they really do love it.
"We are now hoping we can get a bit more funding so we can hold sessions at the centre during the Easter holidays and hopefully take the kids on a few day trips.
"It is really enjoyable for us working with the kids as well and we are hopeful the club will be a huge success in the future."
