Students soldier on with studies

STUDENTS from Priestley College's sports science department swapped the classroom for an army camp.

The students were signed up as raw recruits to the Swynnerton training area in Stone, Staffordshire.

The students tackled the assault course and team-building activities, as well as methods of camouflage and concealment.

Sports science tutor Danielle Toward, who accompanied the students on the trip, said: "It is always enjoyable to get out of college and into the wider world, in order that the students get as much practical experience as possible.

"It was certainly an unforgettable experience for all concerned and we all returned with an even greater respect than ever for our armed forces."
