Police warning after thieves target woman in charity shop

POLICE are warning residents in Lymm about a pair of con artists after cash cards were stolen from a woman's handbag.

The incident happened at around 3.15pm on Saturday, November 27, at the St Rocco's charity shop, at The Cross.

Two women distracted a shop volunteer, as she was looking at some clothes, by holding up a pair of trousers in front of her.

Then one of the thieves handed the victim her purse saying that she had dropped it.

The two women left the shop and when the victim examined her purse she realised that two of her crebit cards had been stolen.

A total of £200 had been stolen from the victim's accounts before she had the chance to cancel the cards, which had been used at four different locations.

Police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
