Officers are now top of the cops

OUTSTANDING officers in Vale Royal were feted at a sparkling awards ceremony last week.

Cheshire Constabulary's best received commendations at The Oaklands Hotel, Gorstage, for saving lives, tackling anti-social behaviour, cracking crime and much more.

More than 40 police officers were awarded Chief Superintendent Commendations presented by divisional commander Chf Supt Tim Jackson, operations manager Chf Insp Paul McHugh and crime manager Det Chf Insp Neil Ellwood.

An audience of family members were invited along to celebrate their success.

Chf Supt Jackson said: "It makes me very proud to know that we have these officers out there day in day out protecting the community.

"They are a prime example of what policing is all about and I thank them for their service.

"I must also thank the many other officers who display similar professionalism and dedication to their job."
