Bus fall pensioner dies

A PENSIONER died two weeks after falling off his seat on a bus in Widnes.

Ernest Moore was on a bus in Widnes Road on November 3, heading towards the Kingsway roundabout.

The single decker had to brake as a car driven by a woman tried to turn from Widnes Road on to Lugsdale Road.

The 84-year-old fell off his seat and broke his hip.

Mr Moore, who lived with his wife in Constable's Close, Castlefields, Runcorn, was taken to Warrington Hospital.

But he developed bronchial pneumonia, a potentially fatal lung disease that can often develop in elderly hospital patients. Mr Moore, a former motor engineer, died on November 19.
