I take on board Cnty Cllr Nurse's comments about low grants etc. I do however take issue somewhat with his comments about the Police.
Are we supposed to be grateful that the present policing levels are to be maintained? An increase would be nice.. it's all well and good to quote statistics about urgent calls, but we need more police to cope with the everyday nuisances such as the unbelievable amount of "boy racers" on Safeway, Love Lane and Sainsbury's car parks.
Yes, it's not an emergency, but EVERY time I have rung the police, they "haven't got an officer or car nearby".
I am not having a go at them about it, I think they do a good job with the pitiful resources they have, but it's everyday nuisances that wear people down and are NOT treated with the respect they deserve by politicians, councillors and other supposed local bigwigs.
