After the adrenalin rush!

GETTING adrenalin rushes has always tempted Les Savage to pursue high-risk activities.

And, now his 14-year-old granddaughter has got in on the act.

When Toni Savage heard that her granddad was planning to abseil for charity, she volunteered to give it a go as well, despite it being her first time.

Together the dynamic duo raised more than £500 for the Myasthenia Gravis Association, which supports people who develop this debilitating muscular condition, by abseiling in Manchester's Velodrome.

Les, aged 64, of Buckingham Drive, Great Sankey said: "Myasthenia gravis is terrifying, it can cripple anyone of any age. I hadn't heard of it before, and to be honest it was the abseil that attracted me, but now I know more about the condition am very glad that Toni and helped to fund raise."

Les, an ex-marine, did a 10,000ft bungee jump for his 60th birthday and says he is always on the look out for the next adrenalin buzz.

He proudly said of Toni, who lives on Ollerton Close in Grappenhall: "She was really excellent and had no fears."
