Teenage girl dies in canal car crash

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl has been killed after the car she was travelling in hurtled into a canal in Grappenhall.

And a police spokesman said today, Monday, that the male driver, also aged 17, was "unconscious and

unstable" at Warrington Hospital.

The two back seat passengers received minor injuries in the crash, which happened at around 9.45pm on

Sunday.

The red Fiat Punto car, which was travelling towards Stockton Heath, veered across Stockton Lane,and into the Bridgewater Canal, as it attempted to negotiate a bend.
