Dirty stations will cost firm

RAIL stations in mid Cheshire could receive penalties for uncleanliness as the area is taken over by a new train operator.

Mid Cheshire Rail Users' Association members have welcomed the Northern Rail takeover - which will also include an incentive scheme to keep station and train facilities up to scratch.

Northern Rail will be taking over the operation of local rail services across the north of England including the Manchester-Northwich-Chester "mid Cheshire" line as from Sunday, December 12.
