A PIECE of motoring magic flew into the Golden Square this week, writes Gemma Cripps.
Tony Green arrived in the town centre with his very own Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which is now on display until Sunday, November 28.
Mr Green, aged 48, who used to live in Fothergill Street, wanted to come back to see his old home town and said that bringing Chitty was a way of giving something back to the people in Warrington.
He said: "The car has attracted lots of interest over the past few days, and we are here until Sunday, so we're expecting plenty more visitors. Just chatting to people and bringing Chitty for everyone to see, especially the kids, has been great fun."
The car is a genuine replica of the original seen in the film, and was built by the same person who worked on the original cars in the film. It is even taxed, insured and has its own MOT certificate.
Mr Green owns the Movies & Motors museum in Edinburgh, where he has 22 original cars from TV shows and films, including the Batmobile and KITT from Knight Rider.
Children can win a ride in Chitty, as well as toys and gift vouchers in a Guardian colouring competition.
Budding artists can pick up an entry sheet from the Golden Square.
Did you go to school with Tony? He was known then as Anthony Knowles and went to Oakwood Junior School until 1969. If you did, get down to the Golden Square before Monday and you and your children or grandchildren can have your picture taken with Chitty for free.
