Drivers get winter warning

A TOP traffic cop is warning motorists they are putting their lives at risk by giving winter driving conditions the cold shoulder.

Sergeant Blair Wilson, of Congleton and Vale Royal Traffic Unit, is urging drivers to take a few minutes to think about the weather conditions before setting off on a journey in the ever-increasing cold.

He said: "We've experienced the first day of frost and slippery roads and have been met by a spate of collisions. A number of these have been because drivers either didn't notice the conditions or they chose to ignore them."
