Stars turn on town's light show

WINSFORD is set to welcome two stars from the world of television on Friday for the spectacular annual Christmas lights switch on.

Coronation Street stars Bruce Jones, better known as the likeable rogue Les Battersby, and Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria Sutherland, have been given the job of illuminating Winsford at the event at Winsford Cross Shopping Centre.

The fun will start at 3pm with a road show featuring a range of activities and competitions with fantastic prizes including a family holiday to Disneyland.

Modus, the company responsible for the town centre, has prepared an action packed day of excitement for Winsford residents and is expecting a good turnout.

Postman Pat will also be watching the switch on along with stilt walkers, clowns and face painters.

Bruce and Samia will be switching on the lights at 6pm.
