Ashton double sees off Gillingham

DEAN Ashton scored twice as Crewe saw off Gillingham at the Alexandra Stadium, last Saturday.

David Vaughan scored Crewe's first on 35 minutes from Anthony Tonkin's cross.

Ashton scored on 71 minutes with a near-post finish, although Darius Henderson halved the deficit with a towering header two minutes later.

But Ashton made it 3-1 as he finished off from Kenny Lunt's pass, before Steve Jones struck in the last minute with a low finish from close range.
