CHESHIRE County Council will ask Middlewich residents for their comments again on controversial plans for a landfill site in the town.
The Banks Group, which wishes to extract clay from a site at Kinderton Lodge to create a space for landfill, has submitted a new application after advice from planners at Cheshire County Council.
A spokesman for the council said feedback to the previous consultation had given rise to some questions which the council had asked The Banks Group to answer, but was keen to stress it was not new information and said objectors' comments still stood.
She said: "We are giving residents and councillors the chance to make additional comments if they want to. As we have given this extra time it is unlikely to go to committee until next year but we believe this is for the benefit of local residents."
Emma Lewin, spokeswoman for The Banks Group, confirmed the firm was not submitting new information but was clarifying queries raised by the council.
She said: "The pressure group felt we are doing it to cancel out objections that have already been made. But we would like it determined as soon as possible."
Middlewich residents can expect to receive a letter requesting their comments in the forthcoming week and have until December 8 to respond.
