Elton tribute

This Friday night's for Elton John fans in the Limelight next week.

Six-piece tribute John's Elton make their first visit to Crewe's music mecca on November 26.

Tall order to recreate the music made famous by one of the most successful rock pianists the world has ever seen and undoubtedly one of the globe's biggest rock stars.

Together with co-writer Bernie Taupin, John has reeled out a multitude of true classics.

Making the break with his 'self-titled' album in 1970, Your Song was his first UK hit reaching number two.

He went on to become a true superstar, donning ridiculous outfits and outrageous spectacles for his legendary US concerts.

Between 1972 and 1975, he had seven consecutive number one albums, spawning hits like Rocket Man, Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Candle In The Wind.

Reunited with Taupin, music again was the focus for headlines in 1983 with I'm Still Standing. Live Aid followed, along withstrong albums Ice On Fire, Sleeping With The Past and The One took him into the 90s.

Five new songs graced the soundtrack of Disney's The Lion King in 1994 and three years later he sang at the funeral of his friend Diana, Princess Of Wales.

Candle In the Wind went on to become the biggest-selling single of all time.

Critically-acclaimed Songs From The West Coast was his first 21st century album and he scored a surprise UK number one last year with a remix of Are You Ready For Love?

A top quality tribute focusing on the 70s and 80s is expected in the Limelight.

Live from 9.30pm, advance tickets are recommended at £7.
