EX-Squeeze frontman Glenn Tilbrook returns to the Limelight with his new band The Fluffers on Sunday.
With more than 25 years experience in the business, the singer-songwriter has had a busy couple of months after being the subject of recently realised film documentary One For The Road, promoting a new book Squeeze - Song by Song and featuring on VH1 Classic.
Making his name alongside Jools Holland and Chris Difford, Squeeze made the breakthrough during the late 70s, riding on the new wave created by the punk movement.
Winning a major contract with A&M Records, they scored their first UK top 20 hit in '78 with Take Me I'm Yours before making it big a year later with successive number two hits Cool For Cats and Up The Junction.
Shedding punk totally, their 1980 album Argybargy built up a reputation of lyrical strength that was synonymous with an era of summing up life through music, Another Nail In My Heart again reaching the UK Top 20.
Holland's departure en-route to a solo career and hosting C4's legendary music show The Tube saw Paul Carrack join the ranks.
The following album Tempted became Squeeze's biggest commercial success on the back of top five hit Labelled With Love and although Carrack departed world tours followed, including a sell-out show at Madison Square Garden.
Dissolved and then reformed with Holland back, Squeeze returned to the top 20 in '87 with Hourglass, also handing them a maiden US top 40 hit.
Holland was gone again two years later but Tillbrook and Difford continued to woo the critics with superb songs over the years - unfortunately missed by the record buying public though.
Back with a new incarnation in '98, the duo produced Domino, again demonstrating their writing talent without pandering to industry trends.
Splitting soon after, Tilbrook continues to ply his trade in style, evident in his solo debut The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook in 2001.
Although having played the Limelight several times, this is the first time with a full band.
Expect all the Squeeze hits plus some 60s classics, he's live from 9.30pm.
Tickets are £12.
