Gardening girl Faye's allotment is a mini-marvel

KEEN vegetable grower Faye Mason has won a top prize for her allotment at Brookfield Park.

The 10-year-old Weaver Primary School pupil was awarded the Best Mini Allotment prize in the Brookfield Community Allotment's annual awards.

Faye, who tends her allotment on a weekly basis, was presented with a certificate and cash prize after beating nine other Nantwich youngsters in the competition.

The competition was sponsored by DT James, a seed manufacturing company.

The judges commented: "We were very impressed with Faye's allotment, and her vegetables were excellent.

"They were certainly comparable with anything we have seen grown by an adult."
