Site helps clients to compare

COMPANIES in Northwich will be open to inspection by members of the public thanks to a new EU website.

The European polluting emission register (EPER) will allow residents to find out more than ever about businesses by providing up to date details of 50 different air and water pollutants produced by a wide range of industries.

Northwich-based companies included on the EPER include Brunner Mond and Ineos Chlor.

Chris Davies, Northwich Euro MP, believes the information will allow residents to compare the performance of companies in their area with those in the rest of Europe.

He said: "With this information local residents can name and shame any companies with standards that are still too low."
