Joan and June fight off the effects of 'flu

WHEN it comes to keeping healthy, Joan Devereux and June Kindon know a thing or two.

They are keen tap dancers, practise regularly at the Age Concern centre in Wycliffe Church and dance in shows with the Co-operative Amateur Theatrical Society.

They recognise 'flu poses a serious risk to health, especially when you are aged over 65. So both had the free flu jab as they are now eligible.

Joan, 65, of Orford, said: "It seems only sensible to reduce the risk of serious illness by having a quick 'flu jab. I would recommend it to anyone."

June, 66, from Orford, added: "I'd rather have a 'flu jab than run the risk of getting 'flu and the possible complications, such as pneumonia."

Kerry Broadhead, of Warrington Primary Care Trust, said: "Vaccination against 'flu is such an important and simple measure which everyone should take if they are over 65 or have a serious medical condition that puts them at risk of complications should they catch 'flu."
