Making a difference to some little treasures

VOLUNTEERS from Warrington Round Table and Barclays have transformed an Evelyn Street nursery.

Little Treasures Children's Nursery is now the proud owner of a new garden.

The garden was created in just one day in the UK's biggest single day of volunteering action - Make a Difference Day.

A total of 15 volunteers from Warrington Round Table and Barclays offered a few hours of their time to make a difference on Saturday, October 30, and Sunday, October 31.

Activity organiser, Colm Buteux, of Barclays and also Warrington Round Table's community service officer, said: "Linking national initiatives with local causes is what Round Table is all about and it has been an inspirational experience to develop this garden for Little Treasures nursery."

The school garden was overgrown and volunteers had to weed and clean up before the garden could be created.

Nursery co-ordinator Lisa Edwards said: "This new sensory garden has provided a great educational and beauty spot within the nursery which will give the children endless opportunity for learning and has made a difference."
