Big Ed gets big response

THE BIG Ed campaign has been swamped with responses to the educational debate.

The influx of responses means education bosses won't be releasing results until next year.

Thousands of people took part in the debate giving their views on what they like and dislike about education in the borough.

Warrington Borough Council has the huge task of narrowing the suggestions down to 20 from thousands. These will then be open to everyone to vote for the best ten.

The council will use the ten selected suggestions next spring to help devise its five-year education strategy.

Sue Cockerill, senior education officer, said: "We have been absolutely stunned by the number of people who took part in the debate. We are reading every single comment which comes in and there are thousands of them!"
