Charity in Jacob's memory gets a Halloween boost

HALLOWEEN fun has helped boost the funds of one of the town's newest charities, which was set up in memory of a special little boy.

Jacob Hawthorn was born with congenital muscular dystrophy and lost his battle for life in February, aged three.

After the death of Jacob, of Hilltop Road, Woolston, a charity was set up to help the families of disabled children by supplying them with video equipment to record special moments with their child.

J-U-M-P, Jacob's Unique Memory Pot, aims to provide families with disabled children the opportunity to create their own memory pot with their child.

This includes loaning cameras and video recorders to families or arranging for special events to be photographed or video recorded.

A charity event held at Monks Sports and Social Club in Woolston raised £1,143 for the charity with more than 200 people buying tickets for the night.

If you know a disabled child and their family and would like them to benefit from J-U-M-P's support, contact Chris Hawthorn on 07970752105.
