A DELIGHTED bride-to-be is thanking everyone who voted for her to win a honeymoon in the Maldives.
Melanie Trigg, aged 25, of Knutsford Road, beat five other castaways last week, in a Big Brother-style competition.
The group lived on a makeshift desert island in Manchester city centre and performed gruelling tasks, before radio listeners voted one person off each day.
Mel said she was over the moon to have won. She is getting married in Warrington's Parish Church in June and Key 103 producers are arranging for the couple to fly to the £7,000 luxury holiday as a honeymoon.
She said: "I'm absolutely ecstatic. There is no way in a million years we would have been able to afford such a honeymoon. I think we would have gone to Blackpool if I hadn't won."
In true Big Brother-style, the contestants had to complete tasks to win food and Mel's most memorable effort was dunking for dead trout out of a bucket.
