Children's stories brought to life by their author

NURSERY children welcomed a famous author to school.

Alec Sillifant, whose books include Scary Edwin Page, Farmer Ham and Little Green Monsters was invited to read to the children who attend Cheshire Day Nursery, Grammar School Road, Warrington.

Mr Sillifant has four children of his own and it is from reading them stories that he decided to start writing himself.

Brenda Burling, nursery owner, said: "It is important for the children to meet and see positive role models, and for the children to meet an actual author was fantastic."
