Remembering Pete McCarthy

A CELEBRATION of the life of Warrington-born travel writer Pete McCarthy is to be held this weekend.

Celebrities, friends and family are expected to attend the event in Pete's adopted home of Brighton on Saturday.

The show, called 'An Evening Without Pete McCarthy', will feature live music and the spoken word. It is being staged at the Brighton Arts Centre and is by invitation only.

Earlier in the day, at 3pm, there will be a special memorial service at St Peter's Parish Church, York Place, Brighton, where all are welcome.

The service and evening event have been organised to coincide with what would have been the writer's 52nd birthday, November 9.

Pete died in October from cancer. His parents still live in Warrington.
