Town set for fresh jobs boost

A PROPERTY developer has unveiled blueprints to potentially bring a raft of new jobs to Nantwich as a business park expands.

Work is now underway on three new office buildings at Princes Court, off Beam Heath Way, amid claims that demands for office space in the town is soaring.

The £750,000 investment, by industrial estate owners Morston Assets, is expected to be completed by the end of July next year.

And once the latest proposals come to fruition, the Norfolk-based company has not ruled out expanding the site still further.

The ambitious proposals are not the first attempt to boost the town's employment prospects at Princes Court.

Back in March it was announced that the Norfolk Charitable Trust was offering a helping hand for small businesses to get off the ground there.

For one year a dozen units, partly new and partly converted space in the former Barony Hospital, were being offered rent-free, and with utility bills paid.

It was estimated that the scheme, which was also being rolled out at similar sites in Crewe, Cannock, Edinburgh and Barnsley, could save firms up to £20,000.

Commenting on the latest development, Stuart Bizley, Morston Assets' project director, said: "Our office accommodation in Nantwich has proved extremely popular.

"It is clear there is a huge demand for quality office space in the town which is why we believe there will be plenty of interest expressed in the new offices."

Property consultants Lamont have been taken on to market the new venture.

One of their chartered surveyors, Karen Kilcourse, added: "Nantwich is a growing town and freehold offices are in short supply at the moment, so we expect this development to generate a lot of interest.

"We already have a list of companies looking for accommodation in the area."

The East Anglian firm was also behind the development of nearby George House, in 2002, which created nine business units.
