A STRATEGIC director of a support services company has been selected as the Weaver Vale Conservatives' parliamentary candidate for the next general election.

Jonathan Mackie, 32, is married with one daughter and lives in Wirral.

He contested the Stretford and Urmston constituency in Trafford at the 2001 general election.
