ST Helens won after scoring two very late tries.

With a good defensive record, the forwards found it hard to break through.

But the Connors trio pushed that one step more and Gavin made the yards, Briers chipped the ball over the defence and Wardropper converted the try to put the Bears ahead.

But with only minutes left on the clock Thatto hit back with a try and the game was won. Man of the match Connor Gavin, top tackler, Aaron Leong, most improved Ryan Steadman.

A TRULY committed, enthusiastic display took the Reds to a worthy victory.

Two touchdowns from Brad Davies and man of the match David Winders raced in for three tries. Top tackler was Bradley Goulding and coach's award went to Stephen Dunne.

THE Bears continued their winning run with another strong display.

Tries came from Shaun Attwood (2) Craig Lawton and Rob Langen and Chris Tobin with Nick Hill kicking one goal.

The team performed well in poor conditions but star performers were Rhys Ashall and Adam Campbell.

IN this Mark Norris building supplies division five clash, West Bank just couldn't keep the big Bolton forwards at bay

Tenacious defending by the Mets foiled so many Bank attacks.

West Bank were well served by Bryn Pinnington and man of the match Ian Connor while Gavin Dick, Ste Littler, Chris Nuttie and Danny Hale all tried their best. Next up is the Swan at Leigh Rec, kick-off 2pm.

Orrell St James U9s 32

THE Bears found themselves four tries down at the break but the second half brought about a great transformation.

The players started to run onto Mike Kelly's well-timed passes and began to meet Orrell with some crunching tackling.

West Bank benefited from excellent tries from man of the match Daniel Rose and from Jack Phillips.

Sam Walker was awarded best tackler and Jack Jopson the coach's award. Tom Dempsey, Rose and George Nuttall were denied what would have been spectacular scores by fantastic cover tackles from Orrell's number seven who prevented what would have been a marvellous comeback by the Bears.

West Bank were well served by Andrew Farrell, James Mercer, Jack Bond and Paddy Douglas

Langworthy U12s 8

AFTER falling behind to a Langworthy try against the run of play, the Bears were made to work.

Tries from Rogers and man of the match Pointon had the Bears level at half time.

In the second half, the Bears defence remained unbroken, holding out for the full 20 minutes for the second week running.

Tries by Costes, Walton and another spectacular try from first receiver and a 90-metre sprint from Jordan Houghton wrapped the game up.

There were top performances from Joe Miller, Michael Williams and Will Donlan.

Man of the match, 1st Arron Pointon, 2nd Tom Costes, 3rd Jordan Houghton.

West Bank U12s coaches Ste and Greg would like to congratulate six players who have been included on the initial Widnes Vikings Halton Service Area Learn to train squad; Tom Costes, Adam Walton, Aaron Rogers, Arron Pointon, Jordan Houghton and Chris Morris.
