Clock Face 8 Albert Park 4

Mark Norris Building Services

North West Counties Division Three

DESPITE the lack of points this was a cracking game.

Albert Park saw little of the ball in the opening exchanges with a couple of unforced errors gifting Clock Face possession.

They turned this into points when a long looping pass saw their centre go in at the corner.

Clock continued to have the bulk of the possession but the Albert defence was in superb form with Haining, Ditchfield, Walton, Abram and O'Neill tackling everything.

The Albert began to come more into the game and just before the break drew level when a short ball from Mark Davies put Carl Dicks over in the corner.

Clock Face got the vital early score in the second half when an error in the Albert defence gifted a try for their winger.

Dave Turner, Andy Horabin and Jimmy Mellor continually made good yards but the Clock Face defence held firm despite Chris Walton being tackled just inches short.

With just 10 minutes remaining a Clock Face player unfortunately broke his ankle and the game was held up for 30 minutes until the ambulance arrived.

Once the game restarted the Albert threw everything at their opponents but were unable to crack the Clock defence as they held on for a narrow victory.

Albert Park are home to Thatto Heath next, kick off 2pm.
